About Me
Experienced communications professional with a master’s in science communication.
I currently serve as a marketing & communications specialist for the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences (CDIS), where I work closely with two departments in the School: the Department of Statistics and the Information School (iSchool).
In 2023, I earned a Master of Science in Life Sciences Communication from UW—Madison. Over two years in the program, I wrote freelance science articles and contributed to published social science research. I learned the science of science communication from some of the field’s top researchers and practitioners.
Prior to coming to Madison, I worked for two years as a senior account executive at Mulberry Marketing Communications. There, I helped clients integrate science-based messaging into their communications strategies. Previously, I spearheaded media relations and social media management for the Illinois Holocaust Museum, the world’s third-largest Holocaust museum. I helped secure press coverage — on the museum’s exhibitions, programs, and positions on relevant issues — from major news outlets including the Chicago Tribune, WBEZ Chicago, and CNN.
Before moving to Chicago, I grew up in Savannah, Georgia. My first role after receiving a bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Journalism from Georgia Southern University was a communications internship at the Georgia Historical Society. At Georgia Southern, I served as the sports editor for the university’s newspaper, The George-Anne, where I helped broaden the sports department's coverage, and my stories earned recognition at the Georgia College Press Association.
