Science Writing for The Daily Cardinal

The following are feature-length science articles, written for a University of Wisconsin-Madison audience.

This article explores how climate change is affecting the city of Madison and Wisconsin more broadly, largely through the voices of city officials and UW-Madison researchers.

Recognized at the Milwaukee Press Club 2022 Excellence in Journalism Awards. This feature traces the history of Wisconsin’s forests and highlights how the changing climate is making its mark on the forests of the upper Midwest by affecting everything from the timing of leaf-color change to the collections of species that inhabit forest ecosystems.

This story discusses the Sixth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, featuring Greg Nemet, PhD., a co-author of the report and a professor at UW-Madison.
